VisualSearch is a reverse image search feature in MotionElements that lets you find the Element that you have been looking for faster by using visual cues such as color, texture and shape of a reference image. This search feature is particularly useful when you have specific imagery in mind for your video project.
VisualSearch can be used to start a search or refine a keyword search further. The following illustrates how to use this powerful feature in MotionElements:
Search By Reference Images
Type A Keyword
To start a search using a reference image, simply type the keywords as you would normally do in a keyword search but without pressing “Enter” or clicking on the magnifying glass/search icon
Drop a Reference Image
Instead, you add a layer of search filters through VisualSearch by dragging and dropping a reference image from your computer to the MotionElements search bar. As you mouse over the image drop area, you will be notified (see image below) that you can release the mouse button to drop the image.
The system will automatically sense that you want to filter the search with the image provided and will begin processing both keywords and image to generate search results.
Also note that you can simply start a VisualSearch by dragging and dropping an image without any keywords. The results generated will be purely based on the visual data from your reference image.
Refining Search Results
At any point during a search in MotionElements, whether it is a keyword search, or an existing VisualSearch, you can further refine the results with VisualSearch through the following methods:
1) Drag & Drop a Reference Image to the designated image drop area on the top of the Sidebar. If you have an existing Reference Image, the new one will replace it.
2) Mouse over any Element from the results shown and click on the VisualSearch (Magnifying Glass) Icon. This will become the new Reference Image and proceed to generate a new set of search results.
Do note that the rest of the Search Filters on the sidebar also work together with VisualSearch so you can further narrow your results down as you would a normal keyword search.
Click on Color
Similarly, you can also fine-tune search results visually through Color. At any point during a search, you can select a Color from the sidebar drop down menu. This will refine your search to display results that have dominant colors close to the one you selected.
If you can’t find the Color you are looking for, you can click on the More button for a wider selection of colors. Once you have found a Color to your liking, click on Choose.
Should you need to expand your search by removing a color filter, simply click on the X from the Color Filter Tab at the top of a results page. You can also achieve this by clicking on Clear All Filters but at the expense of all other existing search filters.
